“Say, (O Prophet, that Allah says): Oh My servants who have transgressed against their souls! Do not lose hope in Allah’s mercy, for Allah certainly forgives all sins. He is indeed the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful” (39:53).”

A journey of faith and resilience

Hope is an essential part of the human experience. It is what keeps us moving forward through challenges, what lights the path in our darkest moments, and what gives meaning to our struggles. In a world filled with uncertainty, hope serves as a guiding force, reminding us that better days are always ahead. Hope is also a very important concept in Islam. Hope in Allah is a driving force that keeps us motivated to seek His mercy, do good deeds, and maintain steadfastness.

For me, ‘Amal’ is not just a word—it is a mindset and a way of life. It reflects resilience, faith, and the unwavering belief that even when things seem impossible, there is always a way forward. Choosing this word for my calligraphy piece was a way to celebrate and share this profound concept with others.

The Power of Hope:

  • It leads to increased worship, gratitude, and love for Allah.
  • It keeps believers motivated to pray, seek forgiveness, and have faith during trials and tribulations..
  • Reflecting on Allah’s names, blessings, and promises in the Qur’an strengthens hope.

How to Attain Hope in Allah

  • Reflect on the blessings, mercy, and kindness of Allah
  • Reflect on the rewards that He has promised us in the Hereafter.
  • Reflect on the names of Allah which invoke hope

AMAL, my latest calligraphy piece

Creating this piece is my way of honoring the power of hope—not just for myself, but for anyone who may need a reminder that no matter how difficult life gets, hope is always within reach. It is a way of dhikr. Everytime I see this art piece framed on my wall, I take a minute to reflect on the blessings, mercy, and kindess of Allah. I reflect on the beauty of Islam and the beauty of how Allah has been described to us in the Holy Quran.

“Inform My servants (O Prophet) that I am truly the All-Forgiving, Most Merciful” (15:49).
